Leica GST101 Heavy-Duty 5.5ft (1.65m) Wooden Tripod - CTP101

The most important criterion for a good tripod is its stability – specifically the torsional rigidity. Besides that valuable attribute, some other substantial benefits of the original tripods from Leica Geosystems are height stability under load and minimal horizontal drift. Additional advantages include long life, optimal vibration dampening, water resistance, outstanding behavior in solar radiation and weight in relation to load-bearing capacity.

Absolutely happy...but... Review by Matthew S.
4.95 stars; sorry...but enough about me; the Tripod is excellent, couldn't have asked for this discounted price! unbelievable...light weight, which at my age is a real bonus, but Leica quality...real wood for the long haul. These legs will primarily be used for running levels and occasional back sights. Well worth the price; expectations for years to come. The one and only negative - the cover plate doesn't seem to fit very well. It seems most companies scrimp on the cover plates these days...too bad, i prefer a custom cover, like the old days...maybe with the heavy duty legs. But, at least they include a cover. Great Deal! Highly recommended. (Posted on 2017-09-26)
